Science Teacher (Part‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role
Northampton District High School is seeking a passionate Science Teacher for a 6‑month fixed‑term, part‑time (0.6 FTE) appointment starting Term 3, 2026. The role involves delivering the Western Australian Curriculum to secondary students and contributing to a vibrant learning community.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the WA Curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and promote achievement.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback and maintain accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate real‑world experiences into learning.
- Optionally support Design and Technologies teaching (additional 0.2 FTE).
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum for Science.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with students, parents and staff.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to fostering a positive school culture.
Required skills
- Understanding of evidence‑based teaching practices.
- Ability to use a range of assessment and reporting methods.
What we offer
- Country Teaching Program allowance of $5,000 per year.
- District allowance of $3,210 per year.
