Sales Manager - Agricultural Machinery Dealers

About the role

A leading manufacturer of construction, lifting, earth-moving and aerial work machinery is recruiting an experienced Sales Manager in Canberra through Superior People Recruitment. The role focuses on developing partnerships with agricultural equipment dealers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field visits across key territories to identify and approach potential agricultural equipment dealers for partnership discussions.
• Perform due diligence and capability assessments on prospective dealer partners.
• Drive dealer on-site onboarding and take part in contract negotiations.
• Work closely with dealers on business execution.
• Carry out hands-on market research through field trips to farms, industry events and trade shows, and submit periodic market reports with actionable insights.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealer principals and key regional end-customers.
• Represent the company at local industry exhibitions, field-day demonstrations and customer engagement events.
• Act as the front-line contact to resolve dealer-related commercial issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of sales or sales management experience, including at least 3 years in agricultural machinery.
• Proven practical experience in agricultural machinery channel development and dealer relationship maintenance.
• Willingness for extensive, frequent business travel, with most working time spent on field visits to dealers and farm customers.
• Valid working rights for the target region.

Required skills

• Strong commercial negotiation, business planning and multi-party communication and coordination.
• Good communication and presentation skills for direct engagement.
• Analytical ability to formulate sales countermeasures based on real-world market conditions.
