Safety & Certification Engineer

About the role

The Safety & Certification Engineer will develop and manage the safety and certification framework for the LAND 6504 capability, supporting Combined Pass approval activities for Defence and government stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse safety and technical certification requirements for LAND 6504 and supporting systems.
• Develop and maintain the System Safety and Certification Plan (SSCP) and Technical Certification Plan (TCP).
• Lead regulatory and certification gap analyses, risk assessments and comparative assessments of certification approaches.
• Support safety and certification activities with Defence authorities, Army Headquarters, industry and OEM stakeholders.
• Maintain certification registers, compliance registers and evidence‑tracking mechanisms.

Required profile

• Minimum NV1 security clearance (NV2 preferred) and ability to obtain NV2.
• At least 6 years of experience in Defence or complex acquisition projects.
• Willingness to work onsite at Brindabella Business Park five days a week.

Required skills

• Experience with system safety artefacts, hazard identification and mitigation.
• Knowledge of multi‑domain regulatory compliance, explosive ordnance safety and transport certification.
