Safety Advisor

About the role

The Safety Advisor will join the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone project team, supporting the development of high‑capacity transmission lines and energy hubs. You will embed a strong safety culture, monitor performance and lead responses to safety incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Apply advanced computer software skills to day‑to‑day HSE administration.
• Review HSE systems, processes and products, recommending practical improvements.
• Track safety metrics to support continuous improvement across the project.
• Coordinate incident reporting and investigations from start to finish.
• Lead by example to set the standard for safety on site.
• Manage document‑control processes, including recording, monitoring, archiving and producing routine communications.

Required profile

• 4+ years experience as an HSE practitioner on large‑scale construction projects, preferably in high‑voltage environments.
• WHS qualifications (Diploma or higher preferred) and, ideally, a Safety Lead Auditor qualification.
• Strong communicator who applies risk‑based methodologies with confidence.
• Ability to work in a bus‑in, bus‑out roster (14 days on / 7 days off) with camp‑style accommodation.
