Room Assistant / Room Leader - Early Childhood Education

About the role

Montessori Academy, established in 2000 and Australia's leading provider of Montessori early childhood education for children under six, is seeking Certificate III and Diploma qualified Room Assistants and Room Leaders for its new Seaford Heights centre. The role is described as stable and long-term, with training, support and development offered.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team to provide high-quality education and care, building positive relationships with children and families.
• Support the planning and implementation of educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming learning environment and ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, service policies and child safety practices.
• Complete observations and contribute to children's learning documentation.
• Communicate with families about children's learning and wellbeing.
• Support the implementation of Montessori principles in daily practice.

Required profile

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and EYLF.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a genuine passion for early childhood education and ability to work in a supportive team.
