Roller Operator – Highway Upgrade Project

About the role

WorkPac is recruiting a Roller Operator for a highway project in the Whitsunday area, specifically the Bloomsbury to Proserpine Highway Upgrade. The client is a Queensland-based civil construction company delivering civil infrastructure, earthworks and construction projects. The roster is Monday to Friday with 11-hour days only.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a roller to compact road base, gravel and other materials to project specifications.
• Complete compaction works across road formation, pavement layers and shoulders.
• Work alongside graders, water carts and other civil crews to support road construction.
• Assist with general civil construction duties and operate other machinery where qualified.
• Maintain safe work practices and ensure quality compaction across the project.

Required profile

• Current Roller RII; additional machinery tickets and experience highly regarded.
• Valid driver's licence; MR or HR licence highly regarded.
• Current White Card (essential).
• Ability to pass regular drug and alcohol screening.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and quality results, with a reliable work ethic and willingness to support the wider civil crew.

What we offer

• $44 per hour base rate, plus applicable penalties and allowances.
