Retail Sales Travel Consultant - Mackay

About the role

Flight Centre is hiring a full-time, on-site Retail Sales Travel Consultant in its Mackay store. You will work a rotating roster across a 7-day trade, turning enquiries into bookings for customers and selling complete holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Plan itineraries, book travel and convert enquiries into bookings in person, by phone and by email
• Sell the whole holiday, including flights, accommodation, car hire, tours, travel insurance, cruises and transfers
• Build a customer base of new and returning customers from domestic to international holidays
• Help customers with travel questions such as visas, best time to travel, packing and local advice
• Meet individual KPIs and sales targets in a busy, high-pressure environment

Required profile

• Seasoned traveller with a history of international destinations
• Great organisational skills, able to manage a calendar and respond quickly to calls and emails
• Determination to meet sales targets and KPIs under pressure
• Customer-focused enthusiasm and warmth

Required skills

• Savviness with computers, switching between complex booking systems to find flights and packages
• Ability to work full-time on a rotating roster

• Wage boosted to $65K equivalent for the first 90 days; average first-year earnings of $70K, with senior consultants averaging $100K and team leaders $138K, including superannuation and penalty rates
