Residential Team Leader

About the role

The Residential Team Leader at Gateways Support Services plays a pivotal role in ensuring the well‑being and quality of life for participants with disabilities. You will lead a team of support staff, coordinate daily operations, and create a safe, inclusive environment that promotes independence and community belonging.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of residential support staff, conducting appraisals and providing guidance.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day operations, including shift scheduling, maintenance oversight, and record management.
• Liaise with participants, families, stakeholders, and external partners to address concerns and support decision‑making.
• Monitor service performance, ensure compliance with policies and safety standards, and contribute to service evaluations.
• Promote Gateways’ services and represent the organisation professionally within the community.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience supervising staff in supported living or a similar person‑centred environment.
• High emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Collaborative, proactive leadership style with a focus on quality outcomes.
• Strong organisational abilities, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related qualification (desirable).

Required skills

• Proficiency with client database systems and general computer applications.
