Remote Paralegal - Mortgage and Property Finance (Australia)

About the role

Teams Squared, a team augmentation company connecting remote talent with global organisations, is hiring a full-time Paralegal for a remote position in Australia. The role suits someone with strong exposure to mortgage and property finance transactions in the Australian legal system, with at least 3-5 years of experience in legal support or conveyancing, assisting with mortgage documentation, settlements and liaison with lenders, borrowers and third parties.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process mortgage documentation for property finance transactions
• Support legal teams with the conveyancing and financing workflow, including document preparation, file opening, settlement coordination and post-settlement activities
• Liaise with lenders, clients, brokers and external stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant settlements
• Perform property title checks, handle disbursement calculations and manage PEXA lodgements
• Compile settlement packs, verify compliance documents and follow up on outstanding conditions
• Maintain accurate records in digital case management systems and ensure procedural consistency
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and lender-specific requirements

Required profile

• At least 3 years' experience in a mortgage or property finance legal support role, ideally in an Australian jurisdiction
• Strong understanding of Australian property finance processes and mortgage documentation
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience in a remote, high-volume or outsourced legal environment is a plus

• Familiarity with PEXA and state-specific land registry systems
