Remote General Practitioner – After‑Hours Telehealth

About the role

Hello Home Doctor Service is seeking a full‑time remote General Practitioner to provide after‑hours primary care via telehealth and home‑visit consultations. You will support partner general practices, aged‑care facilities and other healthcare organisations across Australia during evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telehealth and home‑visit assessments for acute and sub‑acute presentations.
• Prescribe medications, order investigations and document clinical encounters promptly.
• Provide thorough handover to the patient’s usual GP to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate with nursing, administrative and clinical support teams following established protocols.
• Utilise digital health systems to deliver safe, patient‑centred care and escalate when required.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner (VR or non‑VR).
• Demonstrated primary‑care clinical skills including assessment, diagnosis, acute management and prescribing.
• Experience or strong interest in after‑hours, urgent or home‑visit medicine, especially with older adults.
• Commitment to clinical governance, evidence‑based practice and professional ethics.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telehealth platforms and digital health record systems.
