Remote and Regional Educator

About the role

The Remote and Regional Educator will join Life Ed NT’s team in Katherine, NT, delivering health and drug education programmes to children and young people across remote and regional schools and early‑learning settings. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on interactive, evidence‑based teaching that respects local cultural contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, adapt and facilitate engaging lessons for diverse age groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Coordinate visits with school staff and community partners, managing schedules and travel logistics.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation of programme delivery.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of educational resources.
• Support outreach activities and community education events as required.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in classroom teaching, group facilitation and student engagement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, educators, families and community stakeholders.
• Relevant qualification in education, health promotion, social sciences or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of the Northern Territory context and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Current Working With Children Check/Ochre Card, valid driver’s licence and appropriate clearances.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic digital tools for lesson preparation, communication and record‑keeping.
