Religious Education Teacher (Years 7-12)

About the role

St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park, a rapidly growing K-12 school near the M5 and M7 motorways, is recruiting a permanent full-time Religious Education teacher. The college is one school covering Junior Years (K-4), Middle Years (5-8) and Senior Years (9-12), and the successful applicant will start on 28 January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Religious Education (Years 7-10) and Studies of Religion I and II.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Plan and deliver effective teaching and learning in SOR/SICT and Religious Education, using a range of assessment strategies and analysing data to inform student learning.
• Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Deep understanding and commitment to the mission of the Catholic school within the Catholic Church.
• Knowledge of the diverse needs of students and ability to support their full participation in learning.
• Commitment to professional engagement with the school community.
• Desirable: willingness to become an expert teacher in the Studies of Religion space, and experience teaching in another KLA (Stage 4, 5 and/or 6).
• Appropriate teaching qualifications for the nominated Key Learning Area(s).
• Accredited to teach Religious Education under the To Work, Teach and Lead policy, or committed to gaining accreditation within five years; must be accredited to teach with NESA.
• A Working With Children Check is required before employment.
