Reliability Engineer – Navy Surface Fleet

About the role

Raytheon Australia, the capability partner of the Australian Defence Force, is offering a Reliability Engineer position within the Minor Vessel Capability Life Cycle Manager (MV CLCM) program for the Navy's Surface Fleet. The role is hybrid and based at the Quill site near Henderson, WA, with the option to work alongside Defence at other locations. You will engage directly with the Royal Australian Navy, Defence personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers, and receive mentorship on engineering methodology and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform RAM analysis of systems and components, including FMECA, FTA, LORA, RCM and MTA
• Carry out reliability, supportability and root cause investigations to identify asset degraders and improve reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and life-cycle costs
• Provide reliability engineering guidance to other functions within the program
• Manage RAM models and systems such as Functional Block Diagrams (FBD), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and the F(D)RACAS system
• Establish and maintain project reliability plans and instructions
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the country

Required profile

• 6 years of relevant experience in a Reliability Engineering role
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (electrical, electronic, structural or mechanical)
• Professional development sufficient to attain CPEng recognition with Engineers Australia in a relevant stream
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance
• Team player with excellent verbal and written skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 55000/55001 series standards is desirable
• Previous exposure to Defence acquisition and/or sustainment projects is desirable
• Exposure to the Defence Logistics Toolset is desirable
