Relationship Manager – Small to Medium Enterprise Banking

About the role

As a Relationship Manager you will manage a growth‑focused portfolio of small and medium‑sized businesses, partnering with ambitious owners across a diverse range of industries. By developing a deep understanding of customers’ businesses, goals and financial needs, you become a trusted adviser who helps them navigate opportunities and achieve growth ambitions. The role is heavily centred on business development and proactive acquisition of new‑to‑bank opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with SME customers and deliver tailored banking solutions that support their business objectives.
• Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities to grow the portfolio and strengthen ANZ’s market presence.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external networks to support effective deal origination, design and execution.
• Structure and deliver complex customer solutions in partnership with product specialists and key stakeholders.
• Proactively manage credit and operational risk associated with the portfolio.

Required profile

• Experience managing a portfolio of small and medium‑sized business clients.
• Strong focus on business development and proactive acquisition.
• Ability to identify and win new‑to‑bank opportunities.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality banking solutions and managing credit risk.
