About the role

Join the Newcastle Community Mental Health Service at James Fletcher Hospital to provide high‑quality, person‑centred mental health care. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with strong emphasis on professional development and clinical supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, person‑centred mental health nursing care to clients, families and carers across the community.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, intervene and review client needs, ensuring positive health outcomes.
• Build therapeutic relationships that support engagement, recovery and wellbeing.
• Use clinical judgement and evidence‑based practice to deliver safe, effective care in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Experience working in mental health across a range of clinical settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• AHPRA‑registered mental health nursing competence.
• Clinical assessment and care planning in mental health.
