Registered Nurse - ICU Transition to Practice Program

About the role

An experienced Registered Nurse with at least two years of acute hospital experience can join a 24-month ICU Transition to Practice Program (0.8 FTE) at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside, commencing in February 2027. Affiliated with Australian Catholic University, the program blends academic learning with hands-on clinical experience in one of Queensland's largest private intensive care units. On successful completion, participants receive credit for two subjects towards a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing (Intensive Care) and gain a pathway to ongoing employment in the ICU.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum two years' post-graduate experience in an acute hospital setting
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to patient-centred care and collaborative teamwork
• Genuine interest in a career in Intensive Care Nursing
