Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Unit, Brisbane

About the role

Queensland Health is recruiting a Registered Nurse (Grade 5) for the Endoscopy Unit at Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital in Brisbane. The unit provides diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, Gastroenterology outpatient services, Pillcam and infusions. The position is a fixed-term temporary role, flexible full-time or part-time, lasting up to 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred clinical care to patients undergoing gastroenterology and endoscopy procedures
• Provide clinical assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, Gastroenterology outpatient services, Pillcam and infusions
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, delegating tasks to Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing and coordinating with medical and operational staff
• Maintain compliance with clinical standards and safety frameworks, use EMR systems and contribute to unit quality improvement

Required profile

• Unconditional NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse and a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience and competence in endoscopy nursing or a day surgery/procedural setting
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork, with strong critical thinking and adaptability
