Registered Nurse, Emergency Department & Acute Ward

About the role

The Emergency Department and Acute Ward at Mossman Multi-Purpose Health Service (MPHS) in the Cairns region, Far North Queensland, is recruiting a Registered Nurse. The nurse delivers assessment, treatment, rehabilitation support and patient-centred care across the Emergency Department and Acute Ward. The service provides emergency, general medical, clinical and diagnostic services, x-ray, ultrasound and pharmacy on site, and offers 24/7 emergency care for residents and tourists, with high-level acute care bridging the gap until patients can be transferred to Cairns Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment, monitoring and direct care
• Perform clinical procedures, testing and medication management
• Maintain documentation, care coordination and patient flow
• Triage and resuscitation (with relevant experience)

Required profile

• Registered Nurse, Grade 5
• Relevant experience for triage and resuscitation
• Vaccine Preventable Diseases evidence as required by legislation and government policy
