Registered Nurse - Dialysis Centre

About the role

Fresenius Medical Care is recruiting Registered Nurses for its dialysis centres across several Australian clinics. You will deliver life-sustaining care to patients with chronic kidney disease, work closely with a multidisciplinary team, provide dialysis treatments, monitor patient progress and offer compassionate support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centred care in the haemodialysis setting in line with organisational core values, APHRA standards of practice and codes and guidelines.
• Support the management team through participation in clinical, management, education and quality activities.
• Take part in designing, planning, delivering and evaluating patient care.
• Protect patient rights by following privacy principles and maintaining a high standard of care.
• Own your professional development and educate colleagues, patients and visitors.
• Promote a safe, secure and healthy workplace under the workplace health and safety policy.
• Take part in quality improvement by reporting incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement.
• Complete clinical and mandatory competencies annually and perform defined management functions when required.
• Maintain accurate patient information in medical records, including the Therapy Data Management System (TDMS), and follow confidentiality and privacy policies.

Required profile

• Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA and holding a current practising certificate.
• Nephrology nursing theory and practice, with demonstrated clinical competence (or working towards it).
• Proven experience in a renal/hemodialysis environment, with knowledge of dialysis treatment processes and renal patient care.
• Effective communication, organisation, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to educate staff and patients, and computer literacy.
