Registered Nurse - Cath Lab/Cardiac Day Stay

About the role

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital, is recruiting a temporary full-time Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Cath Lab and Day Stay Unit. The unit covers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offers a range of cardiovascular procedures. The position is open until November 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-procedural care to patients in the Cardiac Day Stay Unit
• Rotate to the cath lab to scrub and scout for interventional cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology, implantable device and structural heart procedures
• Work during the day shift (0700-1930, Monday to Friday) and be available for on-call emergency cover outside those hours

Required profile

• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• More than 2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute settings such as ICU, ED or CCU
• Current Cath Lab experience is beneficial
• Full working rights in Australia
• Ability to work unsupervised and in an organised way during periods of high demand
• Capacity to wear lead-equivalent gowns for radiation protection

Required skills

• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to join an on-call roster and respond to after-hours calls within 30 minutes
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
