Registered Nurse – Cardiology (Part‑time Fixed‑term)

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join its specialist cardiology and cardio‑thoracic service at the City Campus. This part‑time fixed‑term position supports patients undergoing a wide range of cardiac interventions, including coronary procedures, pacing, TAVI, electrophysiology studies and device implantations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care to cardiology and cardio‑thoracic patients.
• Assist with patient assessment, clinical decision‑making and care planning.
• Facilitate efficient patient flow across pre‑admission, day procedures and peri‑procedural care.
• Support multidisciplinary team members to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritisation and time‑management skills.
• Commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
• Willingness to work a range of AM and PM shifts within a multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Cardiac nursing expertise.
• Experience in cardiology or acute care settings (preferred).
• Postgraduate qualification or studies in Cardiac Nursing (desirable).
