Registered Nurse – Blood Donation Centre (Bunbury)

About the role

Lifeblood is seeking both a permanent full‑time and a one‑year fixed‑term Registered Nurse to join its Bunbury Donor Centre. You will work in a donor‑focused environment, helping to ensure a safe and reliable supply of blood products across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility.
• Provide clinical oversight and guide team members during blood collection.
• Perform routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
• Set up and operate blood collection machines and equipment.
• Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
• Manage adverse donor reactions, offering instructions and physical assistance.
• Monitor donors post‑donation and arrange re‑booking for future donations.

Required profile

• Completed Bachelor of Nursing.
• Current AHPRA registration.
• Ability to lift 9–22.7 kg occasionally.
• Frequent standing, walking, and bending while setting up equipment.
• Flexibility to work a rotating fortnightly roster (Monday‑Friday, early mornings and afternoons).
• Willingness to travel to Perth CBD for training if required.
