Registered Nurse – Aged Care (Permanent Part-Time)

About the role

Respect St John's is looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join its team on a permanent part-time basis. The nurse provides safe, high-quality clinical care that promotes the health, wellbeing and independence of residents, working closely with the Care Manager, General Manager and wider care team. The roster is 23.25 hours in week 1 (Mon, Tue, Wed 7am-3:15pm) and 15.5 hours in week 2 (Wed and Thu 7am-3:15pm).

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident assessments and obtain histories from residents and/or family members to identify care needs.
• Take part in resident admissions, ongoing assessments and reviews.
• Develop, implement and regularly evaluate individualised care plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Provide and oversee direct clinical care, including personal hygiene, pain management, clinical assessments and GP rounds.
• Administer medications safely and take responsibility for correct ordering, storage, administration and documentation.
• Monitor residents' health and wellbeing and respond to changes in clinical condition.
• Work with care staff, allied health professionals, GPs, residents and families, and give clinical guidance to the wider care team.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant aged care legislation.
• Current National Police Certificate or ability to obtain one.
• Understanding of aged care accreditation and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and residents' dignity, independence and quality of life.
• Ability to meet Aged Care Worker Screening requirements.

Required skills

• Strong clinical assessment, communication and documentation skills.
