Registered Midwife - Maternity Unit

About the role

Tamworth Hospital's Maternity Unit is recruiting a Registered Midwife to support women and families through pregnancy, labour and beyond. The unit cares for about 1,200 births a year and is open to permanent and temporary full-time, part-time and casual roles, with hours chosen by the applicant.

Key responsibilities

• Support women and families through antenatal care, labour and postnatal care
• Rotate through clinical areas such as the Birthing Unit, Triage, Day Assessment, Caesarean Section care, Antenatal and Postnatal Unit, Home Visiting Services and Antenatal Clinics
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team in a rural setting

Required profile

• Overseas candidates with AHPRA and ANMAC assessment for ANZSCO code 254111 (Midwife) are accepted
• Minimum 18-month commitment to the position or agreed contract duration; payments to part-time and contract staff are pro-rated
• Category A position requiring occupational assessment, screening and vaccination against specific diseases before an offer

What we offer

• Pay of $37.48-$52.62 per hour plus 12% superannuation, salary packaging and rural incentives
