Registered Cardiology Nurse (Casual)

About the role

Advara HeartCare is seeking a registered nurse with cardiology expertise to join its Gladstone team on a casual basis. You will work alongside visiting cardiologists and cardiac physiologists to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care for regional Queensland patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform resting 12‑lead ECGs, blood pressure measurements and apply 24‑hour Holter monitors.
• Monitor patients during cardiac procedures, recognising and managing adverse reactions promptly.
• Supervise stress echocardiograms, providing dynamic ECG monitoring and clinical management of any events.
• Educate patients before, during and after procedures to improve health literacy and outcomes.
• Collect, validate and document patient data using electronic medical records.
• Provide front‑of‑clinic support, including greeting patients and handling paperwork.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 5 years experience in cardiology, critical care or a comparable nursing role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ECG analysis and interpretation.
• Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS) and strong clinical assessment, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
