Recovery Worker

About the role

Wellways is recruiting a Recovery Worker for its Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub. The role walks alongside people on their individual recovery journeys, helping them recognise their strengths, build independence and reconnect with the people, activities and communities that matter to them. It works alongside the Psychosocial Team Leader, clinical partners and other service providers in a collaborative, trauma-informed service.

Key responsibilities

• Support people to build independence and strengthen their connections
• Help people recognise their strengths and reconnect with what matters to them
• Work collaboratively with the Psychosocial Team Leader and other providers
• Contribute to a person-centred, trauma-informed service where participants feel safe, respected and empowered to make their own choices

Required profile

• Cert IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or a related field, or a tertiary qualification in social science, or 1+ year of relevant work experience in the mental health sector
• Two or more years of experience in mental health or community services
• National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Evidence of right to work in Australia and 100 points of identification
• NDIS Workers Orientation module certificate (free online course)
• Warmth, empathy and a commitment to person-centred practice; experience in mental health, psychosocial support, community services or disability support is helpful

What we offer

• Pay of up to $43.42 per hour (SCHADS Level 3B) plus leave loading and salary packaging
• Salary packaging up to $15,899 and meal and entertainment allowance up to $2,650 per year
• 17.5% leave loading, paid parental leave after 12 months and paid cultural leave where applicable
