Radio Presenter – Breakfast Show (Karratha)

About the role

Join ABC Pilbara as the voice of the regional Breakfast program, delivering engaging news, stories and entertainment to listeners across the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions from Karratha.

Key responsibilities

• Present and produce a live weekday Breakfast show for ABC Pilbara.
• Create audio and cross‑platform content for local, state and national audiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with community contacts to source strong local stories.
• Contribute to emergency broadcasting and regional emergency coverage plans.
• Collaborate with ABC teams across the network to share and promote content.
• Work early‑morning and other rostered shifts required for the Breakfast program and regional operations.

Required profile

• Creative storyteller with confidence on‑air and a strong understanding of local journalism.
• Demonstrated editorial judgement, able to source, analyse and verify information quickly.
• Knowledge of issues affecting the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions, or ability to develop it rapidly.
• Current and valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Strong radio presentation and production abilities.

• Base salary $80,000 – $98,000 per year plus 15.4% ABC nominated superannuation.
