Quantity Surveyor

About the role

A prominent Sydney consultancy firm specialising in quantity surveying across education, health, residential, commercial, aviation and defence projects is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor. The role provides cost management and advisory services to multidisciplinary project teams, with accurate cost estimates, budget management and advice on value engineering and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide detailed cost advice and estimates tailored to each project
• Conduct trade take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
• Manage variations and site valuations accurately
• Implement value management strategies and cost optimisation initiatives
• Attend design meetings and keep clients informed
• Prepare cost reports and carry out financial reconciliations
• Carry out feasibility studies and assess project viability
• Use industry-leading software, including MS Office and CostX

Required profile

• Membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS or AIQS
• 3+ years of relevant quantity surveying experience in the building sector
• Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and construction practices
• Knowledge of current industry methodologies and innovations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
