Quantity Surveyor

About the role

MBM, a national independent Australian-owned property consultancy offering quantity surveying, building consultancy, tax and asset services, PPP advisory, infrastructure, facilities management advisory and expert witness services, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for its Brisbane team. The role supports the delivery of comprehensive property consultancy services across Education, Government, Commercial, Health and Infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-contract: with supervision prepare tender analysis, initial budgets and benchmarking, elemental and trade-based cost plans, bills of quantities, pre-tender estimates and bank reports, give tender methodology advice, value engineer and challenge the client's view when appropriate
• Post-contract: with supervision prepare progress claim recommendations, bank draw-down reports, cost reports and cash flows, variation valuations and other work as required
• Attend all meetings as required and track time spent on projects
• Build relationships with current and new clients, assist with proposals and tenders, attend industry functions and training, and contribute to the growth of the firm
• Comply with Work Health and Safety, quality assurance, anti-discrimination and company policy requirements, and meet deadlines with accuracy

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline
• Minimum of 2-4 years' experience, ideally in a client-side role within Australia
• Strong command of construction methodologies and local procurement practices
• AIQS or RICS membership, or working towards it, is highly regarded
• Organised, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in CostX and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
