Quality Engineer – Utilities and Civil Construction

About the role

The role provides quality assurance for utility and civil works on a major infrastructure programme, applying an ISO 9001‑aligned quality system and supporting the delivery of transport, building, water and other infrastructure projects across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Apply an ISO 9001‑aligned quality system and prepare inspection, testing and activity documentation.
• Inspect work, oversee supplier and subcontractor compliance, and conduct audits.
• Investigate non‑conformances, verify corrective actions and maintain test records, work‑lot evidence and performance reports.
• Advise project stakeholders, identify practical quality improvements and implement risk controls.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification or diploma in civil engineering, science, building, construction, quality or project management.
• At least three years of quality‑engineering experience in construction, including utility and civil works exposure.
• Ability to perform inspections, tests and audits against specifications and work independently.
• Knowledge of quality systems and experience in project‑based assurance or compliance.
• Familiarity with document management systems such as Aconex or SharePoint.

Required skills

• Use of SharePoint for quality reporting.
