Quality Control Technician – Veterinary Pharmaceuticals

About the role
The Quality Control Technician ensures that raw materials and packaging meet company quality standards before release for production in a GMP‑regulated veterinary pharmaceutical environment. The role conducts laboratory testing, reviews supplier documentation, and supports material disposition and supplier qualification activities.
Key responsibilities
- Perform sampling, appearance, and identification testing of incoming raw materials.
- Review supplier Certificates of Analysis against internal specifications.
- Release raw materials and packaging for production following approved procedures.
- Conduct purity and potency adjustments using FormWeigh where required.
- Update material release information in SAP, LIMS, FormWeigh and other quality systems.
- Print and apply approved labels to released materials.
- Maintain raw material retention program, including inventory, storage, documentation and disposal.
- Support supplier qualification by reviewing documentation and verifying packaging artwork.
- Ensure Safety Data Sheets are current for all raw materials.
- Maintain and update material specifications in line with regulatory changes.
- Assist investigations of rejected or non‑conforming materials and update system status.
- Collaborate with QA, Production, Warehouse and Procurement to meet quality and supply requirements.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related discipline.
- Experience in human health or animal health industry, preferably in a laboratory or Quality Control setting.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and quality management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Good organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
