Python Developer - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Python Developer to help train next‑generation AI systems. You will design and maintain high‑quality backend services that feed real‑world data into AI models, without needing prior AI research experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable APIs.
• Implement robust data validation, error handling and security best practices.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning and schema changes.
• Test AI‑powered models in Cursor, reporting incidents, bugs and screenshots.
• Participate in intensive 4‑day testing bursts to evaluate model impact on coding workflows.
• Collaborate with the research team via Slack, sharing findings and improvement ideas.
• Complete post‑burst surveys delivering insights on model performance and developer experience.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily with Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear incident reporting.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced, confidential, collaborative remote environments.
• Passion for AI advancements in software development and willingness to experiment with new tools.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• API security, data validation and error handling.
• Database migrations, performance optimisation and schema design.
• Experience with AI coding tools, preferably Cursor.
