Purchasing Officer

About the role

As a Purchasing Officer within Metso's Global Pumps Team, you will support the Australian Pumps business by managing the procurement of pump components and indirect materials, both locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage RFQs through Jaggaer, follow up with suppliers on quotations, pricing and delivery timeframes.
• Analyse supplier quotations, create and manage purchase orders in SAP, and negotiate pricing, quantities and delivery schedules.
• Support inventory purchasing for Pump Products across Distribution and Service Centres and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and implement improvements to purchasing processes and overall efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
• Proven experience working with suppliers, managing quotations, pricing and delivery timelines.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Experience using SAP or another ERP/procurement system.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and ability to understand basic technical drawings.
