Purchasing Manager

About the role

Desky, which started in Brisbane in 2020 selling sit-stand desks and now sells ergonomic furniture to customers in Australia, the US, Canada and Europe, is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to take over its supply chain. The role shapes purchasing strategy across four markets, manages suppliers and leads a hands-on purchasing and logistics team.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the purchasing strategy for Australia, the US, Canada and Europe, planning how and when stock is bought so each country has what it needs
• Find and assess new suppliers and work through contracts, pricing and terms
• Forecast demand and plan stock levels with the operations team
• Produce purchasing, forecasting and supplier performance reports
• Identify cost savings by monitoring pricing, freight and supply chain trends
• Lead and support a purchasing and logistics team, helping it grow and shaping how it works

Required profile

• 5+ years in purchasing or procurement, with hands-on experience buying from international suppliers
• Full end-to-end experience: sourcing, negotiating, managing suppliers and handling logistics
• Product business experience, ideally ecommerce, retail or consumer goods shipping internationally

Required skills

• ERP systems such as Cin7 or similar
