Project Safety Advisor

About the role

BESIX Watpac is seeking a Project Safety Advisor to support its South Australian construction team on major projects across Adelaide and surrounding regions. The role focuses on delivering a safe workplace through proactive WHSE management.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake WHSE duties as directed by the WHSE Manager and Site Manager in line with BESIX Watpac HSE Management Systems.
• Drive safety, environment and quality policies to meet Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements.
• Assist in developing and implementing the Project Safety Management Plan.
• Review subcontractors' Safe Work Method Statements before work commences.
• Disseminate health, safety and environment information to relevant personnel.

Required profile

• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety or Occupational Health & Safety (mandatory).
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with internal customers.
• Ability to work autonomously, use sound reasoning and make decisions.
• Professionalism, maturity, confidentiality and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Work Health & Safety (WHS) knowledge and certification.
• Ability to deliver safety training sessions such as inductions and critical incident management.
