Project Manager - Tier 2 Commercial New Builds

About the role

A national builder, well known for large and diverse projects across Australia, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its team. The role covers end-to-end delivery of commercial new builds, from tender handover and value engineering through to practical completion and the end of the defects liability period. It is described as a growth hire, with a strong pipeline of projects and stability in Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project life cycle, including programming and scheduling of baseline programs and proactive delay identification
• Oversee Project Quality Plans so builds exceed the National Construction Code and client requirements
• Manage project finances under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017, issue payment schedules accurately and on time, and forecast cost-to-complete monthly
• Review negotiations and letting of major trade packages to secure back-to-back contractual terms
• Drive a safety-first culture compliant with WHSQ regulations and the company's safety system, and ensure QBCC licensing compliance
• Act as main client contact, coordinate architects and engineers for timely IFC documentation, and lead and mentor the project team

Required profile

• Stable track record delivering new build projects in Australia for a head contractor with values up to $60m (team projects up to $200m)
• Strong employment history
• Trade or tertiary qualification in construction
• Proven collaborative ability and leadership of teams

Required skills

• Construction software such as Procore, Jobpac and MS Office suites

What we offer

• Salary of $200,000-$240,000 plus superannuation, negotiable by experience
• Work on a new project alongside another Project Manager on an existing project during an ECI period on a $70m+ aged care development starting Q2 2027
