Project Manager – Healthcare Services

About the role

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia & Northern Territory is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead critical healthcare projects across Adelaide and Darwin. This full‑time position supports the delivery of essential aeromedical and health services to remote communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation through to completion, managing planning, scheduling and milestone tracking.
• Ensure delivery aligns with scope, timelines, budget and quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to inform decisions.
• Manage resources, resolve competing priorities and address resourcing gaps.
• Support procurement, contract management and infrastructure delivery.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform project design and recommendations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management frameworks and tools.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex projects from planning to benefits realisation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship‑building abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to manage resources, timelines and competing priorities.
• Experience developing business cases and assessing project feasibility.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• High level of organisation, initiative and professional judgement.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
