Project Manager (Fixed Term)

About the role

JLL is hiring a Project Manager on a fixed-term basis in Canberra. You take full ownership of project delivery from establishment through to handover and closure, managing between 5 and 8 projects at once. You work independently with minimal guidance from senior team members and validate and oversee the work of Project Coordinators and Assistant Project Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Complete monthly deliverables including Project Delivery Plans, Monthly Status Reports, Anticipated Cost Reports, and meeting agendas and minutes
• Manage project budgets and forecast expenditure to stay on budget
• Develop detailed project programmes with milestones and objectives
• Maintain an up-to-date risk register and prepare Project Control Group reports and attend PCG meetings
• Chair weekly project meetings and lead RFP preparation, scope writing and tendering
• Drive value engineering and buildability analysis, and negotiate and administer contracts with clients, consultants and suppliers

Required profile

• Degree in Project or Construction Management or a related field
• Six years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience exceeding ten years with at least four in Design, Construction or Project Management
• Experience establishing and maintaining Anticipated Cost Reports, including cash flows and accruals
• Experience running projects without a Senior Project Manager or Director and managing project close-out, including financial close-out and contractual documentation
• Preferred: current AGSVA security clearance or ability to obtain one

Required skills

• Reviewing variations and obtaining timely client approvals
• Maintaining Health, Safety and Environmental systems
• Preferred: developing Safety and Environmental Plans with active compliance oversight
