Project Manager – Civil Construction (Mackay)

About the role

RoadTek, the commercial arm of Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of civil construction and maintenance projects in Mackay. You will oversee road infrastructure delivery, ensuring projects meet time, cost, quality and performance targets while supporting regional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver road infrastructure projects across the full lifecycle, applying sound project management principles.
• Coordinate project teams, resources, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, resolve complex issues and provide clear reporting and mitigation strategies.
• Apply technical expertise in civil infrastructure, especially concrete and steel construction and rehabilitation, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships through clear, tailored communication.

Required profile

• Four‑year degree in Civil Engineering accredited by the Washington Accord or equivalent recognized by Engineers Australia.
• Valid Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain a criminal history check due to access to sensitive data.
• Willingness to travel across the state as required.
