Project Engineer – Wind Installation

About the role

Fortescue is seeking a Project Engineer to support the installation of wind turbines at the Bonney Downs Wind Farm in Pilbara. Reporting to the Wind Installation Package Manager, you will guide the engineering aspects of turbine installation from planning through commissioning, contributing to the company’s 2030 zero‑emissions target.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with supplier pre‑qualification, bid evaluation and contract negotiations aligned with project schedules and budgets.
• Manage technical and commercial procurement of self‑erecting systems and installation cranes from tender to installation.
• Coordinate tendering of wind turbine installation contracts and ensure compliance with engineering, quality and project requirements.
• Monitor manufacturing and installation progress, quality assurance and delivery milestones.
• Support development of project deliverables to improve design maturity, scheduling accuracy and cost definition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience on energy or large‑scale infrastructure projects; wind installation experience is a plus.
• Proven experience in package or project engineering for major equipment or EPC contracts.
• Familiarity with wind turbine technology and installation interfaces.
• Commercial understanding of contract management principles.
