Project Engineer – Simulation & Defence Projects

About the role

CAE is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of acquisition and recurring services projects for defence customers. The role bridges the customer’s engineering team and CAE’s internal and subcontractor engineers, ensuring technical deliverables meet the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain overall design integrity of assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with engineering and quality‑assurance processes and policies.
• Plan, control, and report on technical project activities and deliverable status.
• Provide support to test and specialty engineering teams.
• Act as the primary technical interface between the customer and CAE engineering groups.
• Build and maintain the customer’s confidence in the technical aspects of the project.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background, ideally combined with project‑management experience.
• Experience in simulation technology.
• Proven critical‑thinking and stakeholder‑influence abilities.
• Solid foundation in software and/or hardware engineering.
• Willingness to work in the Brisbane office and travel to RAAF Base Amberley (hybrid model: 3 days on‑site, 2 days flexible).
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
