Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer

About the role

Built, a privately owned construction company operating across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, is seeking a Project Engineer in Melbourne. The role manages, controls and delivers projects on and off site within time, quality, cost parameters and stakeholder relationships, coordinating the construction process with senior project management teams. It is open to both Project Engineers and those seeking a Senior Project Engineer position.

Key responsibilities

• Perform overall technical coordination of the construction process, coordinating and documenting design and programme requirements with senior project management teams.
• Prepare cost reports with the Cost Accountant and review design against the project budget.
• Manage subcontract conditions and ensure timely procurement of trades.
• Help manage and status target programmes and issue programme reports to the Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager.
• Identify and acquire project resources as required.
• Support the Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager in identifying project-specific risks, goals and opportunities.
• Act as a link between design, building services and subcontractors to meet project objectives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Building/Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Solid experience in building and construction in roles preceding Project Engineer.
• Ability to facilitate change and make decisions, and to delegate, mentor and encourage the team.
• Initiative, adaptability and an innovative mindset.
