Project Architect - Sports

About the role

Gensler is looking for a Project Architect to work across the studio and lead teams in developing design solutions and coordinating projects from concept through construction. The role works closely with the Principal-In-Charge, the Design Director and the Design Manager, and delivers projects that are technically, legally and financially responsible.

Key responsibilities

• Manage communication and coordinate between the project team, client, vendors, contractors and consultants
• Resolve complex technical and design issues to produce constructible solutions
• Direct production of drawings, specifications and construction administration tasks, ensuring documents meet design intent and high technical quality
• Process submittals and substitution requests during construction and address RFIs
• Interface with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction
• Guide the team's design in line with local and national codes
• Mentor and coach junior team members
• Contribute to proposals and contracts with the Design Manager, and take part in business development
• Help shape the project's financial performance and maintain strong client relationships

Required profile

• Australian Registered Architect
• 8+ years of experience delivering sports stadiums, training facilities and entertainment venues
• Proven track record delivering sports and similar projects from concept design to construction completion
• Understanding of local and national codes
• Experience across the full project lifecycle, including post-occupancy
• Ability to handle concurrent projects and strong written and verbal communication and leadership skills

Required skills

• Expert working knowledge of Revit, 3D modelling, visualization and graphic software
• Project management and client relationship management
