Program Advisor, Family Law Program

About the role
The Program Advisor will provide reports and information on sensitive child protection issues in response to orders from the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Reporting to the Family Law Program’s Team Manager, the role may occasionally require travel to various office and court locations across Victoria and requires a current Victorian driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.
Key responsibilities
- Provide professional advice and recommendations to the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Child Protection on complex, sensitive child protection cases under the CYFA Act 2005, Family Law Act 1975, Family Law Amendment Act 2023 and the National Strategic Framework.
- Deliver expert advice, undertake follow‑up actions and identify emerging issues, pre‑planning and evaluation related to child protection matters before the Court.
- Utilise knowledge of child protection systems, terminology, practice, legislation and risk‑assessment frameworks, including MARAM, Connect for Safety and the L17 Portal, to inform Court reports.
Required profile
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, policies and risk‑assessment frameworks.
- Ability to travel occasionally across Victoria for court or office visits.
