Production Technician - CBRND Protective Equipment

About the role

Leidos Australia supplies protection technology and training to the Australian Defence Force, with its L&SS team procuring, inspecting, testing and delivering protective equipment for CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) threats. The Production Technician is based at the Prestons site and reports to the Production Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and carry out quality control activities on CBRN protective technology.
• Inspect, maintain and repair equipment in line with the Maintenance Management Plan.
• Record calibration, servicing and work orders accurately in the ERP system.
• Review CBRN systems, recommend improvements and contribute to the development and enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required profile

• Practical technical capability and experience in an environment where safety, quality and following procedures are important.
• Essential: experience in a facilities, manufacturing or warehouse environment, including working with SOPs or equivalent procedures.
• Ability to safely lift boxes weighing up to 20kg.
• A valid driver's licence.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and hold a Baseline AGSVA security clearance.
• Roles may be subject to ITAR requirements, which may limit dual nationals of certain countries or require U.S. Persons Abroad authorisation for dual Australian-U.S. citizens.

Required skills

• Advantageous: a certificate or technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or a similar discipline.
• Advantageous: a forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.
• Advantageous: experience inspecting, maintaining, repairing or calibrating technical equipment.
