Product Engineer

About the role

Workyard is looking for a Product Engineer to own the full lifecycle of building and shipping software that automates construction payroll and compliance. You will work closely with product managers, engineers and contractors to shape ideas, prototype quickly, and deliver value to one of the largest yet least digitised industries in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Understand contractor workflows through research and translate pain points into product features.
• Take products from discovery through design, development, release and continuous iteration, making decisions on scope, speed and accuracy.
• Define technical solutions, review code, and help raise the quality bar as the team grows.
• Balance trade‑offs between rapid shipping and the need for rock‑solid reliability in payroll‑critical features.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software end‑to‑end.
• Strong full‑stack mindset with a front‑end lean, able to design data models and architecture for real products.
• Customer‑centric attitude: regularly engage with users to inform design and improve simplicity.
• Comfortable working autonomously with loose direction and rapid prototyping.

Required skills

• React (front‑end)
• Laravel (back‑end)
• AWS hosting environment
• Native iOS/Android development experience
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools for rapid prototyping
