Procurement Advisor - Water Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Downer's Water Services is looking for an experienced Procurement Advisor to support major water infrastructure projects across South East Queensland. The role reports to the Senior Procurement Advisor and is based at the Brisbane Airport office (Qantas Drive), with occasional travel to project sites such as Duncan Street and Mango Hill. It covers procurement strategy, sourcing, contracting and supplier engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of procurement strategies for major infrastructure projects.
• Lead or support sourcing activities, RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations and subcontractor engagement.
• Manage procurement delivery, including expediting materials and mitigating supply chain risks.
• Work with project delivery, commercial teams and procurement hubs to drive value, compliance and performance.
• Analyse procurement data, monitor market trends and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of procurement experience supporting capital projects in utilities, infrastructure, construction or resources.
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• CIPS accreditation highly regarded.

Required skills

• Sourcing, subcontracting, supplier negotiation and contract management.
• Sound knowledge of Australian construction contracts and procurement best practice.
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
