Process / Production Engineer - FMCG Manufacturing

About the role

A Food & Pharmaceutical FMCG manufacturer in Melbourne is looking for a hands-on Process or Production Engineer to drive filling line projects, equipment installations and process improvements. Reporting to the manufacturing team, the role focuses on improving production efficiency, supporting equipment performance and running continuous improvement initiatives. It suits an engineer who enjoys being on the factory floor with operators and maintenance teams rather than working behind a desk.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise manufacturing processes and production performance
• Support and improve filling line operations
• Troubleshoot production equipment and process issues
• Lead equipment installation, commissioning and improvement projects
• Work closely with production, maintenance and engineering teams
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and reliability
• Support new equipment from installation through to operation

Required profile

• Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing, FMCG (food or pharmaceuticals) or a high-volume production environment
• Proven experience with filling lines (essential)
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning and implementation (must have)
• Ability to troubleshoot issues on the factory floor and a continuous improvement mindset
• PR or Australian/NZ citizenship required; a work visa is not sufficient as the role is permanent
