Principal / Studio Director – Design Architecture

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded, design‑led Principal Architect to lead and grow our Brisbane studio. This senior position offers genuine autonomy, the chance to shape the studio’s direction, and a clear pathway toward director‑level progression.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business development by building client relationships, securing new projects, and representing the studio at industry events.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a team of architects and designers, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee studio operations, including resource management, workflow optimisation and talent recruitment.
• Provide strategic design direction on key projects and ensure high‑quality outcomes through design review and documentation oversight.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in an architectural practice.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of winning new business.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to expand client networks.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
