About the role
ASC is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its Whole of Boat Integration & Performance team. This senior position provides technical authority across complex submarine systems and integration activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering authority across complex submarine engineering activities and assess system interfaces.
- Lead multidisciplinary technical investigations, engineering assessments, and support defect investigations and root‑cause analysis.
- Review and approve mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
- Provide technical direction across design, integration, certification and engineering assurance while balancing safety, performance, cost and schedule.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Significant experience in highly integrated engineering environments, preferably with submarines or similar platforms.
- Professional recognition such as CPEng or equivalent.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for Defence security clearance and ITAR compliance.
